Taking my Writing Into "Overdrive"; I Still Love Pro Wrestling

So yeah, almost done the plotting / pre-planning for Book 2 of Overdrive and I'm very excited to see how it turns out on paper. Whereas with "Cowboy Ending" my personal goals were simple enough (Complete the project, get it published, keep it under 120,000 words) with book 2 I feel a sense of obligation.

While the fan base for my writing is small - they are vocal and I am appreciative of all the feedback I have received for Overdrive (and the other eBooks I have available on Smashwords, Amazon and other retailers).  Now I have a standard I have to live up to. And while some of you clowns (i.e.: wrestlers) are likely thinking #LowStandards to me I feel an obligation to exceed my own expectations with the continuation of Joe's adventures and his development as a person and as a reluctant hero.

Stay tunes. Expect preview chapters for "Outlaw Justice" on this page in the coming weeks as I get closer to Publication Deadline (Late December ish)

****

I broke into pro wrestling in September of 1995. In the 18 years, near 1500 matches and thousands of miles travelled since then it would be easy to get down-trodden, weary and frankly a bit sick of some of the shenanigans that go on in the game.

Thankfully, every now and then I am reminded why I do this.

Props to Trent for continuing the professional relationship with the good people over at St Amant Centre. Getting to put on an event for the clients and their families, seeing the smiles on their faces and the joy it brings is all the reminded I ever need for the value in what we do.

Sure, there's a business side to Pro Wrestling, and that's important. But the more important side - in my opinion - is the goodwill engendered not only in the community but in yourself for giving back to the community and providing simple, escapist entertainment to people who so desperately need it.

Good job everyone. And thanks to Jay and TJ for letting me pull off some "Giant Spots" just for the fun of it.

Last Minute Road Trips

Not something I get too often anymore. At my age / experience, when people are looking for me to pack my boots and head outta town, they usually know this at least a month in advance.

That said, it was a pleasant surprise to not only get the call from Wavell to head on out to Lebret, SK for a show but to also be available for said show.

Nice crowd of kids and their families, eager to be entertained and easy to please. Glad I was able to bring Jay Walker and Leo London with me to give them a chance to experience a taste of "life on the road"which is the only way anyone in Pro Wrestling ever truly learns anything.

Shout outs to Wavell (for an easy match as always) Billy, Joe, Bobby and Kat (who made the trip in from Edmonton at last minute) and of course to Short Sleeve Sampson who started his "Midget Time Farewell Tour" with this event. Glad I was able to be a part of that. Really good dude.

"Cowboy Ending" is doing very well on Amazon, Smashwords and other retailers. Thank you again for all the support. The recently released "Book of Korum" is moving at an alarming rate and I am humbled by the response so far. I have begun the second book of Overdrive and will have details and sample chapters to post as time goes by. And the title? I think it's appropriately called "Outlaw Justice."

Settle down, Scott.

I'll be in touch soon. Busy day ahead. Check the links and have an awesome day.

So yeah, time for a change

And time to get back into the swing of writing things on here.

The focus for this Blog has become less specific and more specific at the same time. No longer will I bore you fools with the same old "Here's what I lifted today" tripe that I always fell back on out of sheer No Originality. Okay, that's not precisely true - I will still do that occasionally.

But more to the point, I have a number of avenues of interest that until very recently I had been ignoring. So from this day forward I will be picking a different topic and espousing upon it at my discretion. Whether you choose to share it or not is up to you.

Topics will include but are not limited to:

Health and Fitness

My wrestling career and the Wrestling Business in General

Writing: Specifically MY eBooks, the difficulties I experience when writing them and the self-publishing process

Movies and other such entertainments

Thank you to everyone who stuck it out for a time. I will likely continue tweaking this site over the next few days. Specifically with the page domain because that one's a bit wordy for my liking.

If you can't wait to read more of my word-smithing, then I encourage you to visit my Author Page over at Smashwords or over at Amazon to check out what I've been up to.

I'm on the road tomorrow with two of my Young Boys. Expect a recap of the trip this weekend.

Thanks y'all.
